H.A.T. Institute & Manual Therapy
WHAT is H.A.T.?
H.A.T. Institute, founded by Mr. Huang Zheng Zhe, is based on comprehensive knowledge in all the main aspects of medical sciences from both a theoretical and practical perspective. To illustrate the point, it combines diverse disciplines, such as anatomy, physiology, fascial theory, biomechanics, principles of physics, kinesiology, etc., and breakthrough, sophisticated, manual maneuvers.
H stands for our founder's surname, Huang's. A is because many overseas patients would shout out "Amazing!" or "magic!" after the treatment sessions. T represents multiple meanings: Technique, Therapy, Treatment, and Theory or concepT. Our certified specialists are, moreover, graded according to this.
This cutting-edge theory focuses on the balance of the whole human body, and mainly targets the soft tissue. Instead of performing bone adjustments — namely chiropractic practice, osteopathic manipulation, and other high-risk methods — H.A.T. maneuvers are practiced fairly gentle, along with potent therapeutic effect and a speedy recovery, particularly NOT pain-oriented.
WHY do you need the H.A.T.?
We consider that many symptoms and discomforts, especially long-term ones, are usually caused by the imbalance of the human body. Once your body becomes imbalanced, this misalignment (even a slight one at the beginning) will usually deteriorate gradually and harm your mental and physical health. For example, a man fell from the top of the stairs, which caused a torsion in his pelvis without any awareness. He felt fine afterwards — but a couple of months later his low back pain kept getting worse. This sort of case is commonly seen in patients: they usually don't know the cause of their pain, even after seeing a doctor. H.A.T. specialists will help you find the possible causes thoroughly and restore the balance of your body.
H.A.T. Manual Therapy — gentle, no bone-cracking, no chiropractic
"Is manual therapy the same as chiropractic or massage?" — Completely different.
- Massage / tuina: relaxes along meridians and acupressure points; mainly local relief of tightness.
- Traditional bone-setting / chiropractic: focuses on joint adjustment with fast rotation and sudden force — the "cracking" thrust techniques.
- H.A.T. manual therapy: based on anatomy and biomechanics, always preceded by a complete assessment. It is gentle and safe, focuses on finding the root cause, and works with the H.A.T. energy method to bring the body back to balance.
Why H.A.T. insists on no chiropractic adjustments: high-velocity joint thrusts — especially on the neck — carry potential risks of spinal cord injury and stroke. The H.A.T. view is that the problem is rarely "a bone out of place"; it is the imbalance of the soft tissue. Gently adjusting fascia, muscles, nerves and lymph lets the body return to balance naturally — safer and longer-lasting than forceful repositioning.
What we treat with H.A.T. manual therapy:
- Spine-related problems: spondylolisthesis, herniated disc, sciatica, stiff neck, cervicogenic headache, back pain
- Joint pain and tightness: frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, De Quervain's (mother's thumb), recurrent ankle sprain, TMJ disorders
- Posture and structural correction: scoliosis, pelvic misalignment, leg-length discrepancy, rounded back, dowager's hump
- Post-surgical and postpartum care: lymphedema drainage after breast cancer surgery, postpartum pelvic and pubic symphysis pain
- Nerve compression: numb hands or feet, thoracic outlet syndrome, piriformis syndrome, headache
After treatment: many people assume back or knee pain means "weak muscles" and train harder — often making it worse. At Amazing International Clinic we advocate "Free Your Body, Free Your Mind": no ineffective exercise prescriptions taking up your time; we strengthen through daily activities to truly prevent recurrence.
WHEN to look for a H.A.T. specialist?
People may not be aware of what has happened to their body, whether the present symptoms are obvious or not. You can directly contact us to arrange an appointment.
WHO needs the H.A.T. specialists?
We highly recommend that everyone see a H.A.T. specialist at least once a year to examine your body — this prevents severe chronic pain that was minor at its onset. We strongly advise receiving these incredibly potent H.A.T. maneuvers prior to surgery, injections or any other invasive procedures.
